VDS improves its service
Fri, 14 Oct 2005
A web facility from the Vehicle Data Systems (VDS), created in order to provide information for prospective buyers about second-hand cars, vans and motorbikes, has been updated to improve its Vehicle Status Check (Vcheck) service.
Invaluable for those looking to purchase and insure a used vehicle, Vcheck's comprehensive listings include details such as registration number, engine number and body type, vehicle history, previous owners and colour changes, number plate changes and most, importantly, stolen status.
Records on the VDS database are sourced directly from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), enabling information to be provided on all cars, vans and motorbikes registered in the UK.
VDS then combines this information with data from other licensed sources, such as the Police Information Technology Organisations (PITO) stolen vehicle information and the Association of British Insurers (ABI) in order to give potential car owners the most complete and up-to-date profile possible.
A full history check is always recommended by experts before buying a second-hand vehicle, as well as taking out a fully comprehensive motorbike, van or car insurance policy.
The VDS Vcheck service is available at www.vcheck.co.uk.
