Holiday misery for van drivers?
The bank holiday weekend is usually the business driver's idea of hell, as van drivers simply out doing their job have to contend with thousands of holiday making cars making their way up and down the country's motorways in search of a quick getaway.
However, perhaps the van driver's misery of motorway gridlock will be avoided, at least to some degree, this bank holiday, as the Highways Agency has announced that roadworks at 25 locations around the UK will be removed over the long weekend.
The further good news is that another ten projects have been completed ahead of schedule.
It is hoped that this will limit the degree of congestion experienced over the holiday, something that is likely to also reduce the number of accidents on the roads caused by rapidly slowing traffic or road rage, making a claim on your van insurance policy much less likely.
However, the Highway Authority says that over 50 roadworks will remain in place due to due to safety reasons.
