UK drivers name 'Betsy' as best car name

A staggering 22 per cent of Brits are apparently so attached to their beloved cars that they name them – and the most popular car name is 'Betsy' according to a recent survey.
The survey, carried out by a leading insurer, surveyed drivers from across the UK about the relationship they have with their cars, and found that many were close enough to give their car a pet-name.
'Betsy' came out as the most popular name, followed by 'Babe' at number two, and 'Tiggy' at number three, while the rather simpler 'Fred' landed the number eight spot.
It seems that the extended periods of time that we are spending with our cars on Britain's increasingly congested roads is bringing us closer to our four-wheeled friends.
Names are usually reserved for things we feel emotionally close to – like our pets, or our children – so the increasing number of cars being named is testament to how much UK drivers love their cars.
However, the best way to show that you love and look after your car is to ensure that you have adequate car insurance cover, just to guard against any nasty damage resulting from bumps and scrapes along the way.
