MIB provides car insurance peace of mind

Wed, 06 Jul 2005

Drivers who have suffered at the hands of uninsured motorists can find peace of mind with the Motorists' Information Bureau (MIB).

The MIB, established in 1946, protects the majority of drivers against the dangers and difficulties that result from having an accident with an uninsured vehicle.

Available to any insured motorist, the MIB operates as a private company, offering compensation to those who have fallen foul of the one in twenty drivers who believe they can take to the roads without insurance.

Whilst it should only be turned to as a last resort – claiming through your insurance company is still the best means of seeking compensation – the MIB provides added peace of mind for the careful, insured motorist.

The government is currently outlining plans to work with insurance companies to provide cheaper car insurance for under 25s, in a bid to cut down on the number of young motorists driving without insurance because they can't afford it, according to duck2water car insurance.
