Vivaldi racing team makes switch to Suzuki
The Vivaldi racing team is awaiting the delivery of its new Suzuki machinery after it announced plans to switch to the make for the 2006 season.
Riders Scott Smart, Ben Wilson and Ollie Bridewell will race the new GSX-R1000 K6 Suzuki superbikes at the Bennetts British Superbike Championship next year. Team member Tommy Bridewell will compete on a GSX-R600 K6 bike in the British Supersport Championship.
The team, which raced Ducatis throughout last season, has signed up Norris Farrow as their new technical director. Mr Farrow will be in charge of building and preparing the engines and bikes for the upcoming season.
"I will oversee the preparation of the bikes and will also have a hands-on role in the development of the engines," Mr Farrow said.
"But of course I can't do this on my own so I am currently putting together a team of highly-qualified technicians to back me up."
Vivaldi Suzuki will carry out a series of test-runs in Spain ahead of the racing season which begins in March.
