Stolen bike brings heartache

A five-year-old boy and his eight-year-old twin brother and sister have been left heartbroken after having their junior motorbikes stolen by thieves.

The bikes, which were swiped from a garden shed, had been bought by the children's mother, Kelly Hale, during a holiday in Brighton.

As the bikes were not covered by bike insurance, Ms Hale will have to start saving to replace the items.

"My dad thought the insurance covered them but it didn't," she told the Welwyn & Hatfield Times: "So I'll have to start saving up for some more.

"It was all such a shock. I told my kids when they came back from school. They just cried their eyes out."

The quad bike and two motorbikes, worth a total of around £700, were taken from Ms Hale's parents' property in Welwyn in Hertfordshire last week. Thieves had smashed the lock of the shed in order to reach them.
