Wednesday July 19th will be Ride 2 Work Day, the Motor Cycle Industry Association (MCI) has announced.
The aim of the national day is to show the social and environmental benefits of riding a motorcycle, scooter or moped and all motorcyclists and non-motorcyclists are being encouraged to participate.
The MCI aims to show the public and politicians the benefits of motorcycling and the number of people, from all walks of life, who choose two wheels over four.
MCI spokeswoman Samantha Tyson-Evans said: "Ride to Work Day promotes the diversity of motorcycling and the many benefits associated with riding on a bike or scooter, not least the congestion busting and journey time-reducing potential of motorcycling in congested urban areas."
The MCI says the benefits of motorcycling include less congestion, less pollution, shorter journey times and more convenient and flexible travel.
If you are considering riding out on July 19th, make sure you have a good bike insurance policy.
