Motorcyclists in charity adventure

Two motorcyclists left London yesterday on a charity ride to Africa.
Craig Carey-Clinch and David French hope to raise awareness for healthcare charities in developing countries through Riders for Health in conjunction with a new programme called Motorcycle Outreach.
The two riders will travel the 7,000 mile journey through Africa and back on BMW F650 GS Dakar bikes, including traversing the Sahara Desert to reach the Riders for Health headquarters in Gambia.
"When we arrive in Gambia we will be spending time with Riders for Health to learn more about what they are doing there, take photographs and write a story," said public affairs director of the Motorcycle Industry Association, Carey-Clinch.
"Our main aim is to promote the awareness of Riders for Health and the Motorcycle Outreach programmes through the media coverage we have obtained."
The two riders said they had been busy over the last few weeks finalising the final details of the trip, including the provision of bike insurance to cover them on their epic journey.
Riders for Health works to solve the problem of delivery of healthcare systems in Africa, alongside the ministry of health and UN agencies.
