Motorbike crash victim ties the knot at last

The bride who lost both of her legs after a horrific motorcycle accident finally had her dream come true yesterday when she made it down the aisle to exchange her vows.
Dawn Auty was supposed to marry Steven Flood in November 2003 but suffered terrible injuries after coming off a bike that was taking her to her wedding ceremony.
The accident nearly claimed Dawn’s life, so emotions were high in Fleetwood, Lancashire on Saturday, when the couple were finally wed, 20 months after the ordeal.
“All brides say it but I really mean it, this has been the happiest day of my life,” she told the Mirror.
Dawn managed to walk down the aisle with her artificial legs into the arms of Steven, who expressed his sheer admiration for her: "She is an amazing, inspiring woman and she's made me very happy. After all the heartache, we've finally got the day we deserve."
The recovery has been hailed by all those who know the couple, although the near-fatal incident again underlines the importance of bike insurance in what can be a dangerous pastime.
