Bike star in horror smash
Tue, 23 Aug 2005
A promising young motorcycle racing star has died in a tragic biking accident.
Gareth Cutts, from Wakefield, was killed when he came off his bike at the start of the Formula 600 race at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire.
The 23 year-old, who had adored motorbikes from the age of 12, began racing competitively four years ago and promised a bright future.
Mr Cutts' mother Magi told Wakefield Today: "He loved to race, its all he ever wanted to do. When the season was over he was like a bear with a sore head, he was a total fanatic."
Hundreds of tributes to the young biker have been posted on the website of the Derby Phoenix Motorcycle Club, of which Mr Cutts was a member.
Both professional and amateur motorbike enthusiasts are advised to invest in bike insurance in order to protect the safety and security of both themselves and their motorcycle.
