There is nothing more disheartening than having your car broken into or stolen. Not only is it inconvenient and costly, but you could lose items that may not be replaceable. It's worth making sure that you don't store much in your car. Your vehicle manufacturer has probably built enhanced security features into your vehicle. There are many products in the shops that can improve your security even more, and therefore deter those thieves.

Your vehicle could already have an alarm, which alerts you that your vehicle has been broken into, or an immobiliser that stops your car being started. Either of which can be added by an approved installer. Central locking means that your doors are definitely locked, or a Double Lock/ Deadlock can be added.

You can also etch your registration number on to all the glass surfaces, including your sunroof, which should prevent reuse. Having a removable panel on your CD/ radio with a dedicated code will enhance security, of course all that is wasted if you store the fascia in the car! And you can also have a tracking device fitted which although is costly, if stolen there is a very high likelihood of it being returned. There are many different types of wheel locks or clamps on the market, which are relatively cheap and if fitted correctly mean that it is very difficult to move the car.
