Vauxhall goes flat-out to meet last-minute order
11th May 2009
Vauxhall has successfully met a huge last-minute order from leading road and rail maintenance company Amey, in news of interest to people looking for cheap van insurance.
The manufacturer had just a week to get at least 60 of the 110 Astravans to the supplying retailer, in order to allow Amey to start urgent work on a newly-won contract from Network Rail.
Amey reportedly chose the Astravan to transport its engineers for the model's robustness, fuel efficiency and carrying capacity.
Vauxhall's corporate sales and development manager Steve Sanders praised the hard work and dedication of the manufacturing staff in meeting such a tough order.
"Everybody from the assembly plant people to the retailer staff, sub contractors and the delivery company has done a great job in satisfying Ameys requirement," he commented.
It follows news that more than 100 new Fiat Grande Punto vans have been delivered to transport power company E.ON's engineers around the UK.
