Peugeot's Bipper vans cut company's costs by 40 per cent

19th February 2009

Fuel bills at a car parts delivery company have been cut by 40 per cent after the company opted to change its fleet of vehicles to Peugeot's Bipper vans, which outperformed the previous Ford fleet.

The Peugeot vans at Kevin Cooper Motor Factors now run on 50-55mpg compared to 30-35mpg achieved by the Ford fleet and the company has not had to compromise on their load-carrying capacity.

Kevin Cooper Motor Factor's company accountant, Pat Newport, explained that while the new Peugeot vans looked smaller, they were more than large enough for the company's needs.

Steve Gadsby, project manager at the company said: “The Bipper vans are also big enough to carry everything we need, are more manoeuvrable and much cheaper to run – so when you factor all of that in, it really wasn’t a difficult decision for us to make to purchase them.”

He explained that the company's drivers had welcomed the "light controls" and improved "driving position" of the vans.

Companies buying a new fleet of vehicles can cut the cost of their van insurance by researching the cheapest deals.

Peugeot's Bipper van was recently named International Van of the Year 2009 at the International Commercial Vehicles Show.ADNFCR-1602-ID-19034651-ADNFCR
