Yamaha YZF-R125 tops list of UK bike sales

Figures have revealed that Yamaha's new legal sports bike, the YZF-R125, has proved very popular with bike insurance customers.

In fact, the Japanese manufacturer said that its YZF-R125 was the most popular bike sold in the UK in May.

What's more, the figures showed that other Yamahas remained a favourite with bike insurance customers. The YBR125, YZF-R1 and YZF-R6 all also made the top ten list of the highest registered motorcycles in May.

Geoff Selvidge, the divisional manager of motorcycles at Yamaha Motor UK, commented: "We are absolutely delighted that the R125 has gone straight to the top of the sales chart, the interest in it continues to be phenomenal!

"Also pleasing is that the YBR125 continues to appeal to those riders looking for the best 'value for performance' proposition to beat the jams and ever rising commuter costs."
