RoSPA conference to feature motorcycle safety DVD
25th February 2009
A Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) conference will see road safety professionals warned about the dangers of complacency.
The event planned for today (February 25th) will be hosted by Jim Fitzpatrick MP, parliamentary under-secretary of state for transport.
Mr Fitzpatrick will focus on how future strategy will be influenced by the lessons of the past.
Kevin Clinton, RoSPA head of road safety, explained: "By sharing information about road safety interventions that have worked in the past and laying the foundations for future strategies, the ultimate aim of this congress is the continued reduction of road deaths and injuries.
Another speaker at the conference will be Stuart Lovett, safety action plan co-ordinator at the Highways Agency, who will run a safety DVD specifically aimed at motorcyclists.
Bikers who ride safely could also benefit from lower motorbike insurance premiums.
BikeSafe is a programme run by police forces from across the UK, which is designed to cut the number of motorcycle casualties on Britain's roads.
