Mixed fortunes for Honda at Oulton Park

6th May 2009

Motorcycle insurance customers saw the HM Plant Honda and Padgetts teams enjoy a weekend of mixed successes at Oulton Park.

Australian rider Josh Brookes used Saturday's practice sessions to get re-acquainted with his CBR1000RR Fireblade, finishing comfortably in tenth place in race one.

However, the second race saw him retire three laps from the finish due to a misfire, putting paid to his hopes of a sixth place finish.

Meanwhile, his teammate Glen Richards took fifth and sixth places in race one and two respectively.

Speaking after the race, Josh Brookes expressed disappointment at losing out on the chance to stand on the podium.

"In race one I had a few issues with rear grip so made some changes to the rear shock for race two which made a positive difference. But I just couldn't ride the bike to its full potential," he commented.

However, the Australian rider was relieved to be able to take part in the race at Oulton Park, after complications involving his visa almost saw him miss the second round completely.ADNFCR-1602-ID-19155323-ADNFCR
