All revved up over bike show

19th September 2008

Over 200 classic motorcycles of all ages, colours and configurations will be part of the Classic Motor Show at Birmingham's NEC.

The event, which takes place from November 14th to 16th, will feature a variety of stands and classic riders in what should be Mecca for motorbike insurance customers.

Highlights of the show should include the Yamaha Classic Racing Team (YCRT), who have invited Chas Mortimer and Rod Gould as well as some of their great racing motorcycles, while the Triumph Owners' Motor Cycle club will be showcasing a 1948 Grand Prix Triumph.

Ferry Brewer of the YCRT said: "As well as some UK firsts such as the bike Chas won at the 1972 500 Spanish GP that was also ridden by Rod, the RD56F - a replica chassis of the 1964/’65 two-stroke RD56 - will also be coming."

Last month, Yamaha announced the arrival of initial stocks of its US cruiser-type YBR125 Custom.ADNFCR-1602-ID-18788741-ADNFCR
