Honda unveils low-emission sportscar

22nd July 2008

Honda has unveiled its low-emission sportscar study model, the OSM, at the British International Motor Show.

The lightweight roadster, named the Open Study Model, displays Honda's core engineering principles, which is to design stylish and exciting cars that are also environmentally friendly.

The two-seater car joined the confirmed for production CR-Z sports hybrid and the FCX Clarity hydrogen fuel cell car on the Honda stand at the ExCel arena in London.

Andreas Sittel, project leader for OSM, said: "We are trying to show that low emission cars can be attractive.

"There is no reason why a car that’s more environmentally friendly can’t look great too – and be sporty and fun to drive."

A US government funded report released last week, indicated that fuel-cell vehicles are still 15 years away from becoming a viable business for car manufacturers and a reality for car insurance customers.ADNFCR-1602-ID-18695918-ADNFCR
