Fiat crowned greenest supermini
24th July 2008
The award-winning Fiat 500 supermini has received further confirmation of its green credentials by winning in the Green Supermini category at the inaugural What Car? Green Awards.
The consumer magazine awards, which were held at the British International Motor Show, were designed to highlight and recognise the most economical and environmentally-friendly cars on the market.
This latest award adds to a string of other accolades bestowed upon the Fiat, after being named CAR Magazine 'Car of the Year' and Fifth Gear 'Small Car of the Year' and honoured with the EuroCarBody 2007 and the Auto Europa 2008.
Steve Fowler, editor-in-chief of What Car, said: "The Fiat 500 is the perfect green city car. Its small, chic and, with an efficient petrol engine, it's low on CO2 and equally harmful local pollutants."
Car insurance customers may like to know that the Fiat 500 starts from just £8,100 with a choice of three low-emissions Euro 5-ready engines.
