Car auction announces record sales

3rd November 2008

Despite tough economic conditions, one car auction house has announced a record-breaking month.

Manheim Auctions, Leeds, reported on a record September that has seen it shift a total of 3,541 units. That number beat the previous best set back in January 2007 by a considerable 270 units.

According to Manheim, targets were smashed due to proactive buyer marketing campaigns that saw five auctions being launched each week throughout September.

March Taylor, new auction centre manager, organised the intensive programme of auctions.

Commenting on the success of his campaign, Mr Taylor said: "I am very proud of such a great result achieved in September.

"To achieve this record in the current economic and trade conditions is a real positive for Manheim Auctions and its vendors.”

No matter what deal consumers get by buying cars at auction, they still need to ensure they research their car insurance options.

In the UK, Manheim offer sellers and buyers of cars, commercial vehicles, motorbikes and plant a national network of 18 physical auction centres.ADNFCR-1602-ID-18855546-ADNFCR
