FTA and Highways Agency
13 January 2012

The Freight Transport Association (FTA) and Highways Agency have signed a Memorandum of Understanding in order to establish a platform for effective cooperation between the two parties.
Chief executive officer of the FTA Theo de Pencier said both organisations share the same aims and the closer collaboration will help effect change for the better in the near future.
Highways Agency chief executive Graham Dalton said the strong working relationship would benefit all van insurance customers in the country as safer and more reliable journeys can be mapped out.
"We'll be working with FTA to keep freight operators informed, both on immediate issues on the network and on longer-term developments and improvements, and to investigate ways to improve the transport sector and wider UK economy," he added.
Earlier this week the FTA backed the mayor of London's Clean Air Fund, which has been introduced to improve air quality in the capital.
