Businesses urged to make road safety a priority

Businesses employing cheap van insurance customers and other motorists are being urged to make road safety a priority.

Arval's road safety manager Tracey Scarr has indicated that road safety needs to remain "high on the business agenda", owing to the high level of accidents involving people driving for work.

She was commenting following the annual Brake Fleet Safety Forum Awards for Excellence ceremony, which is sponsored by the fleet management firm.

Ms Scarr explained: "With this in mind, Arval is proud to sponsor the Brake Fleet Safety Forum Awards for the third consecutive year and we would like to congratulate all of this year's winners for their exceptional efforts.

"Companies and drivers that actively take steps to mitigate their own road risk and that of others help to make our roads a safer place to be."

Last week, road safety charity Brake launched a new motoring campaign advising fleet managers to do all they can to monitor their vehicles and drivers on the road.
