Shakey on track at Silverstone in first day of WSB round
10 qualifying
This year, the World Superbike Championships was back at the new
Silverstone track, and day one of practice was a positive one for
the Althea Ducati Racing team. Express Insurance sponsored Shane
'Shakey' Byrne recorded thirteenth position, team mate Carlos Checa
closed in Ninth.
Following day one's qualifying, Shane Byrne commented how he
enjoyed riding on the new-look circuit recorded the sixth fastest
time in free practice, but unfortunately he dropped back a little
in qualifying.
Shakey said: "l like the track.
There are however two points that I'm finding difficult and I
hope the changes I've made with my technicians can help us there.
I've tried the tyres and have identified my preferred front tyre.
Tomorrow we'll continue to work on the set-up."
Second qualifying will start at 10.45 tomorrow morning with free
practice at 13.50. The Superpole will get underway at 15.00. Race 1
