Maxxis MX Round Six - Farleigh Castle - Preview
10 August 2010

Preview of all the round 6 action in MX1 and
MX2
It is Round Six of the ACU Maxxis British Motocross Championship
this weekend with the races being held at the popular circuit of
Farleigh Castle. The start list is full of some of the top names in
British Motocross and one of these is Aprilia's Josh Coppins; this
might be his last event in this Championship so he will surely be
determined to continue his recent run of good form.
MX1 Class
In the MX1 class, the favorite to take the title this
year has to be Russian Evgeny Bobreshev. He has an impressive
record in the 2010 championship winning nine of the fifteen motos
to date on his CAS Honda. Things however may not continue as they
are with Buildbase CCM rider Stephen Sword returning to full
fitness and having contested the Czech GP this weekend. On the
other hand, current ACU Maxxis British Motocross champion Brad
Anderson (PAR Honda) has to take maximum points this weekend to
leave him with a slim chance of rescuing his crown as he currently
stands in third position - sixty points off the Championship
Leader.
Just a few other top MX1 riders who will also be battling hard
this weekend are; Gareth Swanepoel, Jason Dougan, Gordon Crockard,
Tom Church, James Noble, Carl Nunn and Ben Lamay.
MX2 Class
The Bike It Cosworth Yamaha rider, Zach Osborne had a big crash in
the previous round, and he will be eager to put in another one of
his great performances this weekend to ensure he does not let his
main rival, HM Plant Red Bull KTM's Jake Nicholls close the gap
anymore than he already has. The gap is now down to just seven
points which is a little bit too close for comfort for the class
leader. Martin Barr (PAR Honda) currently holds a comfortable third
place in the series, with not much chance of any other riders
catching him. Other top names in the MX2 class races include,
Elliot Banks-Browne, Mel Pocock, Kristian Whatley, Matiss Karro,
Shane Careless, Neville Bradshaw and Bryan MacKenzie.
The action will be starting on Sunday morning with Free Practice
and Timed Training at 9am. This is followed by the first
Championship race which is due off the line at 12.15pm.
