Victory for Connolly at Donington Park

Ross Connolly won the first round of the R&G Racing Suzuki GSX-R600 Trophy after an impressive display. Connolly lead from the start after qualifying in pole position, and lead all the way in what was a very entertaining race and a fantastic day of racing.

Connolly raced ahead of the pack and left second place Mark Cheetham, a clear 8 seconds off the pace. Tom Gazzard filled the final place on the podium after starting from 4th on the grid, just missing out on second place by three tenths of a second.

The Pole Position Award was won by Connolly and he picked up a cool £50 Stamford Superbikes voucher for Force Field Body Armour. He also clocked the fastest lap of the race with a time of 1min 42.5seconds winning himself a Suzuki watch.

The Express Insurance Top Gun Novice of the day was awarded to Duncan Bedwell who finished fourth. Bedwell was also picked by race commentator Fred Clarke as the most entertaining rider of the race and was awarded the Relentless Rider of The Day award.
