GSX-R Trophy Round 1 - Snetterton

Round One saw five riders signed onto the grid and the racing was fast and furious setting the pace for the rest of the season. The five racers who arrived at the Snetterton race track on Saturday were Nicky Wilson, Paul Rogers, Ed Pead, Matthew Andrew and William Sawyer.

Unfortunately one of the riders, Matthew Andrew, was unable to race across the weekend after an off during Saturdays testing. He did however say he is looking forward to continuing to race throughout the remainder of the championship.

Nicky Wilson took 20 points in Race One achieving a clear 5 point lead next to Paul Rogers. In Race Two, competition was much closer to call. The race ended with both Nicky and Paul taking joint lead with 25 points.

The best lap over the weekend was achieved by Paul Rogers during the second race where he recorded a fast time of 1:14.963 round the 1.9 mile Snetterton Circuit. Nicky Wilson is now ranked at the top of the leader board with 50 points in the bag at the end of the first meet. Followed close by Paul Rogers with 45 points.
