RoSPA supports plans for reducing road casualties
21 July 2010

Car insurance customers would be happy to know that the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) has supported the European Commission's (EC) efforts to reduce road deaths.
This opportunity should be used by the government and other road safety agencies to improve the standards of road use and driver safety, advised the organisation.
Kevin Clinton, RoSPA's head of road safety, said: "Moving forward together on road safety is good for the EU. States have much they can learn from each other. Given its position as a road safety leader, the UK can share a lot from its experience, but we must remember that there are important lessons for us too."
The latest report released by the EC revealed that the UK had the lowest rate of road deaths by population with 38 fatalities per million.
Recently road safety charity Brake urged the fire services department to join Road Safety Week to raise awareness about the importance of driving safely.
