Motor Codes announces new ICAP line-up
21 February 2012

Motor Codes has revealed the line-up of its Independent Compliance and Assessment Panel (ICAP), which is now operating under a set membership basis.
The regulatory body is approved by the Office of Fair Trading and helps to ensure the interests of car insurance customers are protected when they get their vehicle repaired or serviced.
ICAP meets every quarter to ensure Motor Codes is working effectively and to maintain standards within the sector.
Although it previously used a rolling membership system, this has now been set and chief executive of the Trading Standards Institute Ron Gainsford has been announced as chairman.
Chris Mason, managing director at Motor Codes, said: "The presence of Ron Gainsford over the past year has ensured effective regulation of our operations, with sanctions for businesses that fall below the mark."
Earlier this month, the organisation welcomed the government's decision not to change the current MOT testing regime to include less frequent vehicle checks.
