RoSPA pushes for bike safety in Scotland

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) has urged motorcycle insurance customers in Scotland to be especially careful this summer.

Thanks to its scenic beauty Scottish roads attract bikers from across the country, wanting to make the most of the British summer.

The road safety charity has urged bikers to be aware of the common causes of accidents and make necessary preparations to avoid these risky situations.

Some of the most common reasons for bike crashes involve difficulty faced by motorcyclists when negotiating a right or left-hand bend on rural roads.

Bikers are also prone to collisions at junctions or while overtaking other vehicles on the road as well as losing control.

Recently, the road safety charity lent its support to the European Commission's commitment to halving road deaths across the European Union.
